It has become clear that Israel is carrying out an offensive wave of attacks against Hezbollah this week, beginning with the cyber attacks against devices on Monday and Tuesday and now following up with airstrikes yesterday and today.

This week's attacks have disabled communications, infrastructure and personnel, potentially in advance of an invasion of southern Lebanon. The Israeli War Cabinet has probably already resolved to instigate a Third Lebanon War and the purpose of this sharp escalation is either to invite a counterattack from Hezbollah and Iran or simple shock and awe before a major attack.

Israel-critical analysts say that Israel will surely suffer a catastrophic defeat in a war with Iran and its Axis of Resistance, but they seem to be ignoring the critical factor which is the potential involvement of the United States.

The US has been getting drawn further into the conflict as its personnel have come under fire in Iraq, Syria, and Jordan, it has been forced to engage the Houthis to defend shipping in the Red Sea, Congress armed Israel with $26 billion in aid, and the US navy has mobilized to deter Iran's counter-attacks in April and August.

So why is nobody talking about the obvious conclusion? Which is that the supposedly delusional, irrational hopes of Netanyahu to successfully confront Iran and Hezbollah in all likelihood rest on a blank check from the United States guaranteed by a Trump White House.

Just as in 2016, Netanyahu is clearly putting his finger on the scale in this election in the hopes that the Zionist-controlled GOP will retake the White House and bail him out. How will they achieve that? False flags.

US officials now believe that a Gaza ceasefire deal is unlikely before the end of President Biden's term in January 2025. This would imply that fighting in Gaza and hostilities with Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iran will continue for at least four more months into the next administration.

When Israel went into Gaza last year, Netanyahu refused to clarify a clear strategic objective beyond the "complete destruction of Hamas." He was intentionally vague to give his government the flexibility to indefinitely continue and expand the war.

Throughout the conflict, Netanyahu has intentionally sabotaged diplomacy by undertaking actions that derail negotiations such as the siege of Rafah in May and June, seizure of the Philadelphi Corridor in July, and high level assassinations in August.

It is obvious that the mission creep, sabotage of the peace process, and antagonism towards Hezbollah and Iran is a deliberate strategy to drag the war out as long as possible, most likely in the hopes that a more favorable administration will unconditionally back Netanyahu's most ambitious plans.

Clearly this is why pro-Israel billionaires and activists in the United States have been working so hard since October 7th to put Trump back in the game. Trump will owe the Israelis big time and he isn't even concealing it.

Just as he moved the embassy, recognized Israeli sovereignty over East Jerusalem and the Golan, tore up the JCPOA, killed Soleimani, and established the Abraham Accords, the Israeli anticipate that a second term will be even more profitable.

Ha'aretz earlier this year alleged that the price tag for Miriam Adelson's support in this cycle will be West Bank annexation. Many pro-Trump shills scoffed at this, but now former US-Israel ambassador serving under Trump, David Friedman, will pitch precisely this to Trump in a forthcoming administration.

Could this be what Trump meant when he said at a recent pro-Israel campaign event with Adelson that "Israel is too small?"

If Biden was unwilling to restrain the Israelis from expanding their operation in Gaza into a regional war against all of Iran's Shi'ite proxies in Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq, then Trump will enthusiastically support this and back Israel's claims to Gaza, the West Bank, and maybe Southern Lebanon.

Maybe this seems hard to believe, but then I think about spurious claims that Iran is plotting to assassinate Trump or hack the RNC's emails. Could be an ominous sign of things to come and what might serve as a pretext for major US involvement in an expanded regional conflict.
